Dr. Todd J. Florin, MD
The Doctor's ProfileDr. Todd Florin grew up in New York. After graduating summa cum laude as a junior year phi beta kappa from the University of Pennsylvania, he returned to New York and graduated from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his Internship and Residency at the University of Michigan and remained there on faculty. He then went back into training completing a Cardiology Fellowship and then a Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Maryland.
He moved to South Florida in 1996 where he became Director of Electrophysiology and Medical Director of the Pacemaker Center at the Miami Heart Institute. There he established an active Ablation Program. When the Miami Heart Institute was acquired by Mt. Sinai Medical Center, he became Co-Director of Electrophysiology. He spent several years as the Director of Heart Rhythm services for HCA and Director of Electrophysiology at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center.
He was fundamental in bringing Magnetic Navigation to the state of Florida. He is presently a Principle Investigator in several clinical trials that utilize advanced technology. He is active in research and serves on the advisory boards of several Medical Device Companies and sits on the faculty of the University of Miami and Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Florin also holds an MBA in Health Care Policy and Economics and has initiated several Med-Tech startups and has served as a private equity consultant. He is married and has three boys.
